Graham was proud to register as a stem cell donor as part of the Love Hope Strength and the Delete Blood Cancer Donor Recruitment Drive in the House of Commons.
Graham said: “Every 18 minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer in UK and around 50% of patients never find the lifesaving match they need. Every 10 minutes blood cancer takes a life somewhere in the world.
“While many people give blood on a regular basis, far fewer know about the other ways their blood can save lives.
“A simple mouth swab, like the one I gave, can map tissue characteristics which can assess whether you are a stem cell match for someone suffering from blood cancer.
“96 MPs and staff signed up for the register which is a fantastic response to an incredibly important cause. I was delighted to get to meet blood cancer survivor and lead singer of The Alarm, Mike Peters, and to get behind this vital campaign.”
