On Friday 4th and Saturday 5th March Helsby Community Sports Club held their "Beer Festival" which was a great success.
"It was good to witness the work and dedication to put on this 7th Beer Festival," said Graham,"and trust it won't be the last but maybe the last to be held in the old club house!"
Alan McKie, Councilor for Helsby added, "This is an excellent example of club members providing an event in the community to support and raise funds to ensure the continuation of the Helsby Community Sports Club until our new sports complex is available".
The committee members all worked hard in putting together the weekend programme and obtaining the varied and wide range of speciality beers on offer and Jimmy Walker, one of the organisers, said, "Thanks go to the many business and local organisations who donated the various beers and wines to support the festival."
"I have a great passion for proper beer!" said Graham, "it's one of the many things which help to make our great british pubs so special, and the wide array of beers and wines on offer today shows there really is something for everyone!"
