Graham is delighted by the latest unemployment figures which have come just before his 3rd Annual Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair on 29 May.
Job Seeker Allowance (JSA) claimants dropped to 3.3% in April 2013, that’s a drop of 30.7% in one year while youth unemployment (JSA claimants age 18-14) fell to 5.4% which is a staggering 38.7% drop since April 2013.
Weaver Vale now has the lowest unemployment rates since Graham Evans became the Member of Parliament in May 2010.
Graham said: "These figures show how the outlook for jobseekers in Weaver Vale is improving. These rises in employment figures are very welcome indeed.
These figures show that there are many employment opportunities across Weaver Vale, and as predictions for the economy are growing increasingly optimistic, I am confident that there will be even more opportunities in the future.
However, employment rates will only rise by giving jobseekers the skills they need, and by bringing together employers with potential employees.
That is why I am running my 3rd Annual Apprenticeship and Jobs fair on 29 May at the Hartford Campus of Mid Cheshire College. Over 30 employers and organisations have signed up to recruit and give job seeker training to attendees. Local businesses such as Roberts Bakery and Cheshire Police will be attending alongside national recruiters like Price Waterhouse Cooper and the Army.
This event will give even more people the chance to find the perfect job when the outlook for job seekers has never looked better in Weaver Vale."
