Graham cut the ribbon to officially open the new Waitrose store at Hayhurst Quay.
Graham said: “I am very pleased to open the new Waitrose store in Hayhurst Quay. This store will not just provide a new shopping facility for Northwich, but will also provide 140 jobs. The development is an essential part of the £80 million Northwich Riverside project which will rejuvenate the town and boost our economy. The new store is just the first step in a development which will make Northwich a better place to work and live.
“The branch is also showing its support for three local good causes. The Northwich and District Youth Centre, Plaza Community Cinema and Petty Pool Trust are the first organisations to benefit from Waitrose’s Community Matters ‘green token’ scheme. At the end of the month, £1,000 will be divided between the three causes, according to the number of tokens received from customers. Customers and staff can nominate different charities each month, resulting in a total of £12,000 donated each year.”
