Representatives from all the major political parties were joined by business leaders for the event, which was introduced by the Forum’s Chief Executive, Phil Orford. Also present was Small Business Minister, Mark Prisk, who addressed the audience.
The Forum’s Chief Executive, Phil Orford, commented: “As a leading, not-for-profit small business organization, it is our passion and our responsibility to help our members succeed – driving job creation and economic growth across the UK.
“We also want to celebrate the huge role played by small firms in the UK’s economy, cutting through the doom and gloom by sharing the real success stories that are out there – while at the same time recognising the work that still needs to be done to give entrepreneurs the best possible chance to turn the economy around.
“That desire is shared by all MPs, and we were delighted to welcome MPs from across the political spectrum to our event.
“Assisting both start-ups and more established businesses to drive private sector growth is simply essential for the UK, and I hope GBT 2012 will help deliver those goals.”
