Many local residents have already contacted Graham with their concerns about the plans, and in particular the proposal to introduce Forest Lodges in the Kingswood area. Over 250 local residents attended a recent public meeting, and has Graham met with local campaigners to discuss the matter.
Graham commented: 'In Cheshire, we are extremely lucky to have some fantastic forests and woodlands. I am personally extremely fond of Delamere Forest, which is such a wonderful place to take the children or go for a run. Therefore, I understand the considerable concern that the proposal has caused, and I am very grateful to the large number of local residents who have written to me on this matter. I will ensure that I make a formal representation to the consultation on behalf of those constituents who have contacted me.
“In addition, a number of local people have pointed out that pre-preparation work has already commenced on the Kingswood site, and I have written to Simon Hodgson, Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission for England, on this matter.'
Graham is encouraging the local community to respond to the consultation - plans and details of the consultation are available on the Forestry Commission website.
