He will be running the 26 miles 385 yards on 22nd April 2012 on route which takes in some of London’s most famous sites.
Graham will be joining several other Members of Parliament on the 32nd London Marathon, all seeking to best the record marathon time set by an MP. The record is still held by now The Times journalist, Matthew Parris, who completed the course in 2 hours 32 minutes and 57 seconds back in the 1980s at the age of 34. It is not expected that Graham, at age 48, will come anywhere near the record.
Graham commented: “I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve already run this year’s Four Villages Half Marathon and have been trying to find time for training whenever possible. There is no doubt that it’s going to be challenging but it’s to raise money for some really great causes and I’m going to give it my best.
“Lots of constituents have already been in touch to wish me luck and to offer to sponsor me and I’m really grateful for all the support.”
