Dozens of national and local employers will have stands at the fair advertising their vacancies and offering advice to local people on how to apply. Seminars giving job seekers tips on things like CV writing are also planned throughout the day.
The event has been organised by Graham in conjunction with Mid-Cheshire College and West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce.
A significant number of local and national employers have already signed up to the event, with many more names being added every day. United Utilities, Timpson, Siemens, British Gas and Barclays are just some of the major employers due to attend alongside many smaller local businesses.
The announcement follows the encouraging news last week about General Motors creating 700 new jobs at their Vauxhall Plant in Ellesmere Port and that unemployment has fallen in Weaver Vale. However, 2,337 people remain unemployed in the constituency. This is still far too high.
Graham commented: “I am delighted to be hosting this Jobs Fair to help boost employment locally. As a young man who left school with few qualifications, I spent some time being unemployed. I know how difficult it can be. So I want to do all I can to help my constituents find work and this Jobs Fair is a practical way to make a real difference locally.
“I’m very pleased to be working with Mid-Cheshire College and the West Cheshire Chamber of Commerce; and I am thrilled that so many major employers have already signed up to the day.
“The Fair is open to all job seekers in my constituency and I hope to see many of them come along and hopefully come away with a job.”
