Soldiers from 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment, based at Marne Barracks, in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, will work with MPs Graham Evans, Karen Lumley and Jim Shannon to give them an idea of the work carried out by the average soldier each day.
The five-day project is the first time that the Army has carried out an embedded visit under the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, which aims to give MPs an insight into how the Army operates.
Mr Evans, Conservative MP for Weaver Vale, in Cheshire, Ms Lumley, who represents Redditch, in Worcestershire, and Jim Shannon, DUP member for Strangford, in Northern Ireland, are living in mess accommodation at the barracks and will spend most of their time observing activities and talking to soldiers.
The trio will wear combat gear throughout their stay to help them blend in more easily and may take part in some tasks later in the week.
