Graham has been learning about Code Club, the national network of over 1,300 volunteer-led after-school coding clubs, teaching children to be tech savvy. The programme aims to inspire more volunteers to run Code Clubs in schools across the UK.
Graham said: “Code Club runs a nationwide network of volunteer-led after school coding clubs for children aged between 9 and 11. Technology group Samsung is now in partnership with Code Club is part of its work to help young people gain the digital skills they need for careers in technology. The partnership will increase Code Club’s reach by opening five new Code Club Regional Centres, equipped with Samsung laptops, where more volunteers can be trained to host future clubs.
“The CODE Club is a really exciting initiative aiming to encourage more young people to develop the vital digital skills for a career in technology. As cyber security and other similar issues become ever more important it is essential that we get more young people interested in technology and learning skills such as coding so that we can keep up with the global digital race.”
