Graham has successfully completed Dry January – an Alcohol Concern campaign to raise awareness of alcohol misuse by encouraging people to give up alcohol completely for January.
Graham said: “This was a really good way of encouraging raising awareness of the risks of alcohol, especially after the festive period. It is a testament to how important an issue alcohol use is because 17,300 people across the country signed up to take part.
“As a Qualifying Member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Alcohol Misuse, this was a particularly important campaign to me. Making people aware of their drinking habits and the habits of those around them are part of an important culture move to try and make responsible drinking more a key issue.
“The 2014 campaign has been supported by a panel of experts ranging from doctors to nutritionists, a dentist and a fitness expert. Ten online advice sessions with those experts were held throughout the month answering questions and encouraging participants to complete the challenge.”
