Christmas came early today for local MP, Graham Evans, as he was faced with hundreds of Christmassy pictures to judge.
“I run a Christmas card competition every year with the winning entry created into my Christmas card which is delivered to thousands of homes across the constituency. This is one of my favourite parts of the year – I love to see the wonderful pictures local children come up with.”
This year we received more entries than ever, and the standard was (as usual) very high. Children from across the constituency took part - pre-schools, primary schools and high schools.
Graham has the unenviable task of trying to choose winners and runners up. “These entries show just how talented our local children are,” said Graham, “I asked them to come up with a Christmassy scene including a local landmark and we have a fabulous array of ideas. There are Alice in Wonderland figures next to Daresbury church, reindeers flying over Frodsham war memorial and Father Christmas at the Kingsmead clock! It’s going to be very hard to choose!”
